Patient questions
What conditions is PRP commonly used for?
PRP is commonly evaluated for knee and joint pain, tendon and ligament concerns, and certain soft tissue problems. Candidacy always depends on the specific diagnosis.
Understanding this topic
PRP is commonly evaluated for knee and joint pain, tendon and ligament concerns, and certain soft tissue problems. At Zest Regen Health, conditions commonly evaluated for PRP include knee pain and arthritis-related joint discomfort, shoulder, elbow, and other soft tissue issues, and chronic musculoskeletal pain under medical evaluation.
The diagnosis matters more than the symptom list: PRP is considered only when the specific condition is one for which it may be appropriate. The clinical team starts with a history, physical exam, and appropriate imaging or testing before recommending any injection.
Because PRP uses your own blood products, candidacy also depends on screening bloodwork such as platelet counts. Not every joint or soft tissue problem is a PRP candidate, and results are not guaranteed.
How the evaluation works

Our clinical team reviews your symptoms and examines the affected area.

Imaging or testing is used where appropriate to identify the source of the problem.
Discussion of options
PRP is reviewed alongside conservative care and other treatment alternatives.
